The Heath Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Ironton Fighting Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.
Heath was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Portsmouth West by a score of 27-15.
Brayden Bayles was his usual excellent self, rushing for 54 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 212 yards and two touchdowns. Bayles is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. Daylen Mcintyre also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Ironton stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Worthington Christian at home to the tune of 56-6. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-0.
Ironton can attribute much of their success to Brayden Schreck, who threw for 84 yards and three touchdowns on only seven passes, and Shaun Terry, who gained 109 total yards and three touchdowns. Terry was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.
Heath's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-2. As for Ironton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Heath has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 230.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ironton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 195.9 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
