There's no place like home for the Taft Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 68-61 victory over Chavez on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Taft had a senior duo take command as Blaine Neudorf dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds and Chase Phillips dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Phillips has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of David Magana, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Taft has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taft will take on Wasco at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasco has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Chavez, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kennedy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
