The Rockford FIRE HomeSchool FIRE kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of HomeSchool Resource Center. Rockford FIRE HomeSchool lost against HomeSchool Resource Center in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-42 score last time.
HomeSchool Resource Center got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Fredrick Jefferson out in front who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The game was Jefferson's third in a row with at least ten points. Mason O'Neal was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Rockford FIRE HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for HomeSchool Resource Center, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-8.
Rockford FIRE HomeSchool will head out on the road to face off against Christian Life at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. HomeSchool Resource Center will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Christian Liberty at 12:30 p.m. on December 28th.
