The Montgomery Central Indians can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fort Campbell and snuck past 48-45. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Montgomery Central also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Drew Yarbrough was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Peterson, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Montgomery Central's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-14. As for Fort Campbell, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-13.
Montgomery Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Campbell, they will be playing at home against Hopkinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopkinsville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Fort Campbell likes a good challenge.
