Fans got a thrill when Thomas Jackson and Lordanthony Grissom connected against Harper Woods. The connection was good for 81 yards, the longest such play in Michigan Independent this season.
Jackson of University Liggett ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against the Pioneers last week. Jackson's team topped Harper Woods as he sprinted for 63 yards on the play and finished with 276 in all.
University Liggett's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jackson threw for 81 and 1 touchdown and Grissom had 97 yards receiving. On the ground Jackson contributed 276 yards. Jackson helped University Liggett's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 13 yards.
Jackson was a force in the backfield as Dan Cimini's team bested the Pioneers.
Jackson put up the best numbers through the air as the Knights topped Harper Woods. Jackson's favorite target this week was Grissom, who caught 2 passes for 97 yards.
University Liggett's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jackson has thrown for 547 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Grissom has 28 catches for 417 yards. Jackson also leads the league in rushing with 845 yards.
University Liggett scaled the state rankings by moving to 366 from 399 this week, the biggest jump in Michigan Independent. The Knights climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Pioneers 33-6.
