Meanwhile, Duarte unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against San Dimas, falling 16-6. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Falcons, who until this match were averaging four runs allowed.
Valeria Nunez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she's played. Ontario Christian's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Duarte, their loss dropped their record down to 18-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Ontario Christian hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.2 home runs per game. However, it's not like Duarte struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
