The Buena Chiefs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 46-20 loss at the hands of Clayton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Buena has scored all season.
Rainelle Blocker was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds for Clayton. Blocker is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Buena has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Clayton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buena will take on St. Joseph at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clayton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pitman at 6:15 p.m. Pitman is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
