It was a good run, but the Lebanon Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of West Clermont by a score of 55-53. Lebanon has not had much luck with West Clermont recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
West Clermont found their leader in underclassman Maddi Fender, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Fender pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Meagyn Riffle, who scored seven points along with six assists and three steals.
Lebanon's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for West Clermont, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Lebanon will head out on the road to take on Walnut Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Walnut Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Lebanon is ranked 31st). As for West Clermont, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Anderson at 7:00 p.m. Anderson is hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses.
