Basketball Recap: Cary Academy Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

If North Raleigh Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cary Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Aidan Rousseau. The Cary Academy Chargers walked away with a 66-53 victory over the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights on Friday thanks in part to Rousseau, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times he's played.

Hudson Chang was another key player, putting up 13 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cody Dickerson, who went 7 for 12 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Dickerson has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Thompson, who posted seven points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Cary Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cary Academy will welcome South Wake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in South Wake's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ravenscroft at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenscroft has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 206 points over their last three contests.
