The New Bloomfield Wildcats fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Chamois Pirates on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 70-68. Even though they lost, New Bloomfield's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the loss, New Bloomfield still got an impressive performance from Nathan Fuhriman, who scored 30 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was J.t. Powell, who scored ten points.
This is the second loss in a row for New Bloomfield and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Chamois, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Bloomfield will be home for the holidays to greet Jamestown at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jamestown is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Chamois, they will stay at home for another game and welcome South Callaway at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th.
