The Astoria Fishermen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 33 points or more this season. They blew past Florence 80-47 on the road. Given Astoria's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 22nd in Oregon, while Florence is ranked 173rd in Arizona), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Florence's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Logan Stenson, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds, and Ryken Blouir who scored seven points along with five rebounds. Blouir set a new season high mark in steals with two. Anthony Bradeen was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The win for Astoria keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Florence, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Astoria will finish 2023 at home by hosting North Valley at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. One thing working in North Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. Florence won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Tan Foothills at 10:00 a.m. on December 20th. San Tan Foothills is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
