You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Rochester's strategy against the Trojans on Saturday. Rochester blew past the Trojans 61-38. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Rochester had established a 22 point advantage.
Henry Buecker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Eli Cox was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Springfield fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Mattoon by a score of 57-48 on Saturday.
Rochester's win bumped their record up to 12-16. As for Springfield, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-18.
Rochester won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup two weeks ago, slipping by the Senators 53-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rochester since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
