Lincoln Park moved up to 498 from 536 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Chicago Public - Big Shoulders. The Lions were able to make the jump by topping Prosser 39-0.
Taft extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Amundsen, 26-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Taft's dynamic duo of Samer Zabadneh and Jonathan Figueroa proved tough for the Vikings to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Zabadneh threw for 120 yards and Figueroa had 79 yards receiving. Sebastian Pawlak helped Taft's passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.
Michael Harris provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Steinmetz topped Schurz. He completed two passes for 18 yards and also ran for 110 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Zabadneh and James Liss Matt Walsh's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Zabadneh leads the league in passing with 657 yards, while Liss has rushed for 914 yards this season. Foreman's Michael Hill leads the league in receiving yards with 462 on 16 catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Taft takes on second place Foreman. Last week, the Eagles defeated Amundsen, while the Hornets beat Mather.
Liss of the Taft is only 86 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
