Last Friday, Mountain View got themselves on the board against Cesar Chavez, but Cesar Chavez never followed suit. They blew past the Champions 41-0 at home. Considering Mountain View has won four matches by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Among those leading the charge was Isaac Jean-pierre, who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Dominic Girard got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Red Mountain's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a rough 49-28 defeat at the hands of Hamilton. Red Mountain was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Mountain View's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points per game. As for Red Mountain, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Mountain View came up short against Red Mountain when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 21-14. Thankfully for Mountain View, Lenox Lawson (who rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
