Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Summer Creek Bulldogs walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Knights on Saturday as they made off with a 38-14 victory. Considering Summer Creek has won ten games by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Summer Creek to victory were Blake Thomas and Lloyd Avant. Thomas rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, while Avant gained 224 total yards and three touchdowns. Avant has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last seven times he's played.
The win (which was Summer Creek's ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.67 points. As for Steele, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-2.
Summer Creek will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against DeSoto at 7:00 p.m. on December 16th. DeSoto has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 727 points over their last 14 games. Steele does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
