After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Catholic, Wellspring Prep were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Zion Christian out 64-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wellspring Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zeekeal Jackson, who scored 18 points along with 9 assists and 8 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least 25% of Wellspring Prep's points. Bennett Saladin was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Wellspring Prep now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Zion Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellspring Prep has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Muskegon Heights at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Muskegon Heights is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Zion Christian, they will be playing at home against Sacred Heart Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
