Section 5 Freelance recap October 8, 2013
Aquinas Institute added to the longest winning streak in Section 5 Freelance this week by beating Mendon/Sutherland, 27-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
University Prep scaled the state rankings by moving to 291 from 346 this week, the biggest jump in the league. University Prep climbed the ranks as a result of besting Whitman 42-0.
Aquinas Institute's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jake Zembiec threw for 119 and 1 touchdown and Jamir Jones had 26 yards receiving. On the ground Luch Pietropaolo contributed 100 yards. Earnest Edwards helped Aquinas Institute's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 28 yards.
Jones was the best receiver in the league this week as Chris Battaglia's team beat the Panthers. Jones tallied 2 receptions for 26 yards. Edwards helped Aquinas Institute's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 28 yards.
Aquinas Institute's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Little Irish feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Zembiec has thrown for 657 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Alex Bianchi has 15 catches for 222 yards.
Raheem miller's team took down the Wildcats 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
