Two dominant forwards in Kyle Blauch and Luke Foster are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Boulder Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Poudre Impalas at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Boulder struggled with assists on Tuesday (Legacy had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Boulder took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Legacy. Boulder has struggled against Legacy recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Boulder saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. George Schmid, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Schmid scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blauch, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Poudre's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 53-42 to Brighton.
Boulder has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Poudre, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
Boulder didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Poudre in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boulder since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
