They took down Jackson 57-39. Given Peach County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Jackson is ranked 401st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Peach County to victory were Atiana Gilcrist and Alexia Heyward. Gilcrist scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Heyward almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Gilcrist has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bre Batts, who scored seven points.
Peach County is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Jackson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-20.
Peach County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-29 win vs. Mary Persons on the 9th. Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
