There's no place like home for Our Lady of the Lake Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Lawrence Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Lakers this season.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Our Lady of the Lake Catholic took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-11, 25-5.

Vivien Mcloughlin paced Our Lady of the Lake Catholic's offense, picking up 14 kills. Mcloughlin got some help from Allison Hemmerly and her 30 assists. Hemmerly was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 17 aces.

Our Lady of the Lake Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1. As for Lawrence, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic will challenge Covert at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Lakers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Lawrence, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Decatur at 6:00 p.m. on September 4.
