The Kenwood Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Downers Grove North Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kenwood fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. Everything went their way against Phillips on Friday as Kenwood made off with a 26-6 victory.
NaCari McFarland was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Patrick Clacks III did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Downers Grove North made easy work of Hinsdale Central on Friday and carried off a 35-12 win. Given Downers Grove North's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Hinsdale Central is ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Kenwood to 6-3 and Downers Grove North to 7-2.
