Suburban - West recap Sept. 26, 2012
Eureka was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fifth in Suburban - West. The Wildcats beat Holt 31-27 earlier in the week.
Fox moved up to 112 from 144 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 35-0 win over the Warriors helped the Warriors improve their standing.
Lindbergh's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Logan Offner threw for 66 yards and Angelo Lombardo had 29 yards receiving. On the ground Garrett Krueger chipped in 162 yards. Krueger helped Lindbergh's passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.
Lindbergh's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Flyers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Offner has thrown for 489 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Krueger has 14 catches for 136 yards. Krueger leads the league in rushing with 289 yards.
A big matchup in Suburban - West this week will be when Marquette takes on Eureka. The Mustangs are in third place, while Farrell Shelton's team is in fifth place.
Parkway South extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Fox, 35-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Patriots.
