Camden is 0-6 against Rome Free Academy since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Camden Blue Devils will look to defend their home court against the Rome Free Academy Black Knights at 6:30 p.m.
Camden had to start their season on the road back in December of 2023, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a hard 38-19 fall against Holland Patent.
Meanwhile, Rome Free Academy came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They greeted the New Year with with a 64-47 victory over Whitesboro. Rome Free Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Rome Free Academy found their leader in underclassman Haylee Bostwick, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Bostwick has scored at least 25% of Rome Free Academy's points. Amiyah Ferebee was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 15 rebounds.
Camden bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rome Free Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Camden was dealt a bruising 71-15 loss at the hands of Rome Free Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Camden was down 41-6.
