The Southmont Mounties posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 57-30 win over Riverton Parke. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Southmont has posted against Riverton Parke since January 2, 2016.
Southmont was led to victory by Austin Foley and Hayden Hess. Foley dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds, while Hess scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Foley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Mccandless, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Southmont now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Riverton Parke, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southmont will challenge Covington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Covington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Friday. As for Riverton Parke, Riverton Parke and North Central will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
