In what's become a running theme this season, El Capitan/Centennial Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 50-17 victory over Ash Fork. El Capitan/Centennial Academy pushed the score to 38-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans had little chance of recovering from.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamryn Crider, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Rachel Musser was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Despite the defeat, Ash Fork had strong showings from Jamie Keele, who scored six points along with five rebounds, and Aspen Bond, who scored no points along with two steals.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Ash Fork, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Capitan/Centennial Academy will face off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Milford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Saturday. As for Ash Fork, they will head out on the road to square off against the Phantoms at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (Grand Canyon is ranked 256th, while the Spartans are ranked 267th).
