Overton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Beech Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Overton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Beech is ranked 42nd).
Overton never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Kingsbury last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Falcons 39-6 at home.
Meanwhile, Beech had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down Springfield 24-10. The score was all tied up 10-10 at the break, but Beech was the (much) better team in the second half.
Chelton Swafford was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns.
Overton's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Beech, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
