The Far Northeast W Warriors managed to keep up with the Aurora Central Trojans until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Far Northeast W might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Aurora Central an easy 40-20 win. Far Northeast W just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Leading Aurora Central to victory were Jamaea Johnson Gonzalez and Alayna McClain. Johnson Gonzalez dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, while McClain scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. McClain is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nijaha Davis, who scored a points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Far Northeast W's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Aurora Central, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Far Northeast W's road trip will continue as they head out to face Northglenn at 4:00 p.m. on December 18th. Northglenn will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Aurora Central will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on DSST: Conservatory Green at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
