The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Robinson Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Northwest Cabarrus struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Vikings had 17 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Northwest Cabarrus took a serious blow against the Vikings, falling 96-58. Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Connor Walker, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Brown, who scored eight points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Robinson gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past East Rowan 76-32 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Robinson sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Robinson's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brian Rowe, who scored 18 points, and Londen Roseman, who scored 24 points. Roseman has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played.
Northwest Cabarrus' loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Robinson, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Northwest Cabarrus hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 60.5 points per game. However, it's not like Robinson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 69.6 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Northwest Cabarrus skirted past the Bulldogs 64-61 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Does Northwest Cabarrus have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
