Albert Gallatin is 2-8 against Uniontown since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Albert Gallatin Colonials will head out on the road to challenge the Uniontown Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Albert Gallatin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Uniontown likes a good challenge.
Albert Gallatin pushed their score all the way to 63 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 83-63 walloping at the hands of Southmoreland. While losing is never fun, Albert Gallatin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Southmoreland is ranked 137th).
Meanwhile, after a string of 14 wins, Uniontown's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 54-44 to South Allegheny. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Uniontown has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jamire Braxton, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Tori Grooms, who scored 13 points.
Albert Gallatin's record is now 6-6. As for Uniontown, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-1.
Albert Gallatin was dealt a bruising 73-40 defeat at the hands of Uniontown when the teams last played on January 2nd. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Albert Gallatin was down 42-12.
