Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Wingfield should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will look to defend their home turf against Natchez at 7:00 PM. Wingfield are limping into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Wingfield came up short against Canton, falling 19-32. Wingfield's loss came about despite a quality game from senior Artario Williams, who caught passes for 89 yards and 3 touchdowns.
After's a string of three wins, Natchez's good fortune finally ran out. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 12-40 punch to the gut against Jefferson Davis County. Natchez were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-27.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the win. Given their recent losses, both teams have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend.
