The Lanett Panthers's and the Loachapoka Indians's game on Friday was close at halftime, but the Lanett Panthers turned on the heat in the second half with 37 points. Lanett was the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over Loachapoka. 61 seems to be a good number for Lanett as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Loachapoka's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mitchell Chenier jr, who scored 9 points along with 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Tyner, who scored 10 points along with 4 blocks.
The win (which was Lanett's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Loachapoka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lanett will square off against Columbus at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Columbus is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Loachapoka will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Beulah at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Beulah is ranked 327th, while Loachapoka is ranked 321st).
