After flying high against the Sherwood Marksmen last Thursday, Kauffman came back down to earth. Kauffman fell 55-48 to Green City on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Kauffman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Green City is ranked tenth).
It was another big night for Asher Buggs-Tipton, who scored 31 points along with six rebounds and five steals for Green City. The contest was Buggs-Tipton's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Tipton, who scored nine points.
Kauffman's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Green City, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kauffman will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Cameron on December 21st. Cameron is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Green City, they will head out on the road to face off against Savannah at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
