The Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 52-43 to North Central. Chambers/Wheeler Central has not had much luck with North Central recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Chambers/Wheeler Central saw an underclassman step up: Michael Jesse scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Jesse is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was William Jesse, who scored eight points.
Among those leading the charge was Zak Swanson, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keian Fischer, who scored 12 points.
Chambers/Wheeler Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chambers/Wheeler Central will take on Elkhorn Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Elkhorn Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for North Central, they will be playing at home against Sandhills/Thedford at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sandhills/Thedford presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Central in Nebraska (Sandhills/Thedford is ranked 36th, while North Central is ranked 179th).
