After a string of three wins, the Nease Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bartram Trail by a score of 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Nease has suffered yet this season.
Nease's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was McKenna Owens, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Abilgail Robinson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Nease's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Bartram Trail, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nease and Creekside will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Creekside is on a four-game streak of home wins, Nease a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Bartram Trail, they will head out on the road to take on Sandalwood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sandalwood has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
