The Jacksonville Golden Eagles's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They secured a 58-52 W over Alexandria. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Jacksonville also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Jacksonville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deasia Prothro, who scored nine points along with two steals. Prothro is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayci Taylor, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Jacksonville now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Alexandria, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-16.
Jacksonville is on the road again on Saturday and plays the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Alexandria, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
