Sacramento Country Day suffered their biggest defeat since November 17, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 89-32 defeat at the hands of Valley Christian. Sacramento Country Day was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-18.
The match pitted two key players against one another: Parker Byers and Chase Clary. Clary had a great game and dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, Byers did his best for the losing side, scoring nine points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Buckingham Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Western Sierra Collegiate Academy on the road and fell 71-26. While losing is never fun, Buckingham Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1263rd, while Western Sierra Collegiate Academy is ranked 475th).
This is the second loss in a row for Sacramento Country Day and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Buckingham Charter, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-8.
Sacramento Country Day strolled past Buckingham Charter when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 42-28. Will Sacramento Country Day repeat their success, or does Buckingham Charter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
