They will face off against the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully San Jacinto Valley Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, San Jacinto Valley Academy came up short against Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School and fell 61-54. San Jacinto Valley Academy has struggled against Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, San Jacinto Valley Academy saw an underclassman step up: Robert Edwards dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for Edwards. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Kelly, who scored five points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Desert Christian Academy was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Nuview Bridge 73-45 on the road. The win was just what Desert Christian Academy needed coming off of a 63-27 loss in their prior matchup.
San Jacinto Valley Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Desert Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
San Jacinto Valley Academy was dealt a bruising 79-31 loss at the hands of Desert Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January. Can San Jacinto Valley Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
