Softball Recap: Toppenish Has No Trouble Against Quincy

Toppenish won the last time they faced Quincy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats blew past the Jackrabbits 14-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Frances Tilley was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Tilley was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Toppenish got a massive performance out of Leticia De La Cruz, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases De La Cruz has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Celene Ea, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Toppenish's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Quincy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Toppenish will take on Grandview at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Quincy, they will square off against Ephrata at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
