The Lucas Cubs put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past St. Peter's, posting a 67-21 victory at home. That looming 67-21 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Lucas yet this season.
Logan Toms continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Culler, who scored 13 points.
Lucas pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.78 points. As for St. Peter's, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lucas won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. South Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 619th, while Lucas is ranked 88th). St. Peter's will be home for the holidays to greet Mansfield Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully St. Peter's likes a good challenge.
