Baseball Game Preview: Fox Creek Predators vs. Greenbrier Wolfpack

The Fox Creek Predators will venture away from home to take on the Greenbrier Wolfpack at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Fox Creek will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Fox Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Keenan a 27-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Predators have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bradley Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Devin Hillary was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chance Weathersbee, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI.

Fox Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Panthers.

Greenbrier's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fox Creek, their record now sits at 9-3.

Fox Creek might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Greenbrier when the teams last played back in March of 2019. Can Fox Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
