Softball Recap: Clearfield Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Clearfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Viewmont Vikings on Tuesday as they made off with an 8-2 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Jenna Lloyd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Clearfield let Alexandra Bingham and Brynn Nicholls run wild. Bingham went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Nicholls went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Skylar Davis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Clearfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They are 8-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Clearfield's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Viewmont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.

As of now, neither Clearfield nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
