Swansboro is 9-1 against Dixon since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Swansboro Pirates will look to defend their home court against the Dixon Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Swansboro and five for Dixon.
Swansboro struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (West Carteret had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Swansboro was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to West Carteret.
Despite the loss, Swansboro had strong showings from Kendall Hackworth, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four blocks, and Brooke Brady, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hackworth has scored all season.
Dixon suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 last Thursday. They were dealt a 44-14 loss at the hands of Croatan. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dixon has scored all season.
Swansboro has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Dixon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Swansboro strolled past Dixon when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 43-25. Does Swansboro have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dixon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
