After a string of nine wins, The Northland Vikings''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Big Walnut, falling 43-14. Northland was down 36-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Nathan Severs was his usual excellent self, rushing for 190 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Severs hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
Northland's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Big Walnut, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Northland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Big Walnut is on the road again on Friday and play against Lake at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
