Coalfield AA recap October 29, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Coalfield AA this week, Bluefield beat Oak Hill 51-15. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Beavers.
Webster County and Braxton County played the most contested game in the league this week, with Webster County eventually emerging with a 16-14 victory.
Sherman's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Kyle Davis chipped in 59 yards.
Davis provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Tide lost to Sissonville. Davis' key target this week was Braden Harrah, who caught 2 passes for 12 yards.
Davis was the best running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 59 yards as Sherman fell to the Indians. Teammate Taite Pauley added to the ground attack by rushing for 44 yards.
A big matchup in Coalfield AA this week will be when Bluefield takes on James Monroe. At the moment, Fred Simon's team is in third, while the Mavericks are in eighth.
Summers County took down Mt. View 61-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
