Ryan Foley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Louie Caldrone, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Fouch, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palatine). They put the hurt on Hoffman Estates with a sharp 12-4 win on Wednesday.
Brandon Ziebell looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Adrian Santamaria was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Toby Peterson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Palatine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoffman Estates only posted a batting average of .233.
Palatine pushed their record up to 21-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Prospect, their victory bumped their record up to 18-9-1.
