Two dominant forwards in Cameron Bryan and Alonna Poole are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Green Hill Hawks will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Oakland Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Green Hill earned a 55-47 win over Gallatin. Given Green Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Gallatin is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Oakland had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They breezed by Riverdale on the road to the tune of 67-31.
Poole continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Joy, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
The victory got Green Hill back to even at 13-13. As for Oakland, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.
Green Hill suffered a grim 53-28 defeat to Oakland in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Will Green Hill have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
