Eastern Hancock is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Christel House get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. Considering the Royals have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Nieko Engleking made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Addisyn Trackwell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chyan Evans, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Eastern Hancock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .423 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Eastern Hancock's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Triton Central, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
Triton Central came up short against Eastern Hancock in their previous matchup back in April, falling 14-11. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
