Riverhead won the last time they faced Brentwood and things went their way  on Monday too. The Blue Waves put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp  16-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Blue Waves, who have now won four contests by nine  runs or more  so far this season.
 Mya Marelli made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Marelli was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with three  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news, Riverhead got a  massive  performance out of  Emma Freeborn, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Those  three  RBI gave  Freeborn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Adrianna Martinez, who  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
 Riverhead  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brentwood only posted  an  OBP of  .375.
Riverhead is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. Having lost for the first time  this season, Brentwood  fell to 2-1.
As of now, neither Riverhead nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
