Assumption Academy were the 40-31 winner over the La Salette Academy Lions when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Assumption Academy took a 51-33 bruising from La Salette Academy on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Assumption Academy has scored all season.
La Salette Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Hall led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Charles Prather, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Assumption Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-5. As for La Salette Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Assumption Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cincinnati Landmark at 7:15 p.m. on February 13th. As for La Salette Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Milford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Milford is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
