Wise extended their losing streak to seven on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-14 in the process. They came up short against the Flowers Jaguars, falling 18-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 back in March.

Elijah Reed was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Malik Debnam was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Flowers, they now have a winning record of 8-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
On Flowers' side, Ivan Valdez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Valdez has become a key player for Flowers: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. Valdez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Aaron Moss was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Flowers' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Bryson Hopkins, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Wise will face off against rival Suitland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Flowers is set to challenge their familiar foe Laurel on Wednesday.
